Not Just Canada And US, North India Is Melting With No Signs Of Monsoon

Global News has been busy with how hot parts of the US and Canada are, with the heatwave making lives hell for people living in those parts of the nation. 

NASA's Earth Observatory revealed data from its Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) model, temperatures rose 15 degrees Celsius higher than the 2014-2020 average, touching up to 49 degrees Celsius. 

However, a similar situation is currently being experienced by Indians in the northern part of the nation where temperatures today have crossed 40 degrees celsius. 

At a time when the nation is expected to be cooling down with monsoon showers, cities and towns in the states of Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh are experiencing temperatures well over 40 degrees Celsius throughout the day.

Looking at the online weather tracking platform Windy.com, we saw this to be the case with various towns and districts across the region. Here are 7 towns and cities that are suffering from the heatwave today. 

New Delhi

The capital of our nation, New Delhi has been at the center of this heatwave, with temperatures touching as high as 42 to 43 degrees celsius. 

In fact, areas surrounding New Delhi such as Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, and others saw a similar trend of temperatures upwards of 40 degrees celsius. Looking at data this week, the temperatures have been around 37 to 38 degrees celsius. 

Agra-Mathura

Going slightly further south from Delhi, areas of Agra, and Mathura, and other surrounding areas saw temperatures in the range of 40 to 42 degrees celsius. 

A similar trend was observed in neighboring areas of Bharatpur, Manipur, Firozabad, etc. throughout the week the area has observed temperatures of over 36 to 38 degrees celsius. 

Kurukshetra

Going further north, towards the town of Kurukshetra saw temperatures touching as high as 42 degrees celsius. 

Neighboring areas of Nikolkheri, Yamunanagar, Indri, and Ladwa among others saw temperatures of 40 degrees celsius.

Ambala

Further north, the town of Ambala also witnessed temperatures as high as 41 degrees celsius with similar temperatures seen in the areas of Dhorakada, Nanera, Baby, Mohari, and others. 

In the past few weeks, the temperatures in these areas have been around the range of 30-33 degrees celsius.

Hisar

Hisar, in the state of Haryana too saw temperatures maxing out at 41 to 42 degrees celsius. Towns surrounding Hisar -- Ludas, Darjanpur, Dhansu, Bagla were a few who saw similar temperatures. 

In this past week, however, Hisar had experienced temperatures in the range of 36 to 39 degrees celsius.
