Facebook saw kids aged 8-12 as 'untapped audience': Leaked documents

Facebook saw children aged 8-12 as an "untapped audience", The Wall Street Journal reported citing Facebook's internal presentation from 2020 titled 'Tweens Competitive Audit'.


A presentation from 2019 showed Facebook was looking to "leveraging playdates" to get more children to use the Messenger Kids app. Recently, Facebook-owned Instagram paused building 'Instagram Kids' for kids aged under 13.
