India to send manned deep sea mission to find hidden minerals in 2024

India has announced to send the country's first-ever manned deep-sea mission under Mission Samudrayan in 2024. "Three scientists will be sent at a depth of five kilometers in the sea to find hidden mineral deposits," said Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh. Earlier, the preliminary design for the deep-sea vehicle MATSYA 6000 was completed.
