Selling Wordle to NYT let me walk away from stress of people copying it: Creator

Josh Wardle, the creator of viral word-guessing game Wordle, said that selling his game to The New York Times was "a way for me to walk away" from the stress of people copying it and making money from it. "I didn't want to be paying a lawyer to issue cease-and-desists on a game I'm not making money from," Wardle added.
