Technical problem shuts most of rail network in Netherlands

The Dutch national railway operator NS on Sunday announced that most of the rail network in the country was shut down due to an unspecified technical problem. "We are working hard on a recovery but, alas, we cannot now say how long this situation will persist," it said. The regional trains in the Netherlands are still running, it added.
