Google wins $20-mn US patent verdict appeal over Chrome technology

A US court cancelled three anti-malware patents of a Texas jury's $20-million infringement verdict against Google. Alfonso Cioffi and Allen Rozman's daughters sued Google in 2013, alleging anti-malware functions in Chrome web browser infringed their patents for technology. The patents were invalid because they contained inventions that weren't included in the patent's earlier version, court said.
