RBI didn't say ₹2,000 note will stop being legal tender after Sept 30: Governor Das

The RBI has not said that the ₹2,000 banknote will stop being a legal tender after September 30, Governor Shaktikanta Das told reporters on Monday. He said the central bank expects that a maximum number of ₹2,000 notes will be returned by the September 30 deadline. "There's no reason for worry. We have sufficient stocks (of printed banknotes)," he added.
