NASA sent an 'interstellar shout' more than 19.9 billion kilometres to restore contact with lost Voyager 2 spacecraft. Using its highest-power transmitter, NASA sent a command instructing Voyager to reorient itself and turn its antenna back to Earth. It took 18.5 hours for the signal to reach Voyager and another 18.5 hours for mission controllers to learn whether it worked.
