Facebook studied how Instagram affects the mental health of its users for three years and its researchers found Instagram "toxic" for teenage girls, The Wall Street Journal reported citing Facebook's internal documents. "We make body image issues worse for 1 in 3 teen girls," a Facebook presentation slide read. The report also highlighted Facebook discussing suicidal thoughts amongst teenagers.
