Leonard, the brightest comet of the year, to fly past Earth on December 12

Comet Leonard, the brightest comet of 2021, will have its closest approach to Earth on December 12, a couple of weeks before it reaches its closest distance from the Sun. It's predicted to peak at a brightness that will probably require binoculars to spot it. There's a chance it could be bright enough to see with the unaided eye, said NASA.
