Social media platforms must respect fundamental rights: Centre

Stating that social media platforms must respect the fundamental rights of citizens, the Centre on Wednesday told the Delhi High Court that a social media intermediary can't suspend a user's account without prior notice. Only in such cases where most of the content by a user is unlawful, the decision to suspend the account can be taken, the Centre said.
