NASA's DART mission's impact with an asteroid earlier this year displaced one million kilograms of rock into space, enough to fill six or seven rail cars, NASA said. In September, the spacecraft deliberately crashed into the 530-foot-wide asteroid to potentially change its trajectory. It ended up altering Dimorphos' orbit by nearly 33 minutes.
